After long time waiting, now it's official: JazzBaltica is alive and will take place at a new location under a new artistic direction. The Swedish trombone player, singer and composer Nils Landgren is taking over as artistic director of the festival. We also found a new home for JazzBaltica, right beside the Baltic Sea: the Evers-Werft (shipyard) at the Niendorf harbor. In his first festival season Landgren will go back to the festival’s roots meaning that the program will again focus on artists from the Baltic Sea area. The motto of the 2012 season, taking place from June 29 to July 1, will be »new places, familiar faces«. The program will be published at the end of April 2012.
